Ludlow CE School
Welcome to Ludlow Church of England School, and thank you for visiting our website. We are a 11-16 community school located in the beautiful county of Shropshire. Ludlow CE School is a partner academy of the Diocese of Hereford Multi-Academy Trust. We consider ourselves to be a very special and unique school in terms of what we offer to our students and the local community. This is due to being truly comprehensive and inclusive, as well as having a church foundation.
Despite the challenges we have all faced during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 and 2021, Ludlow CE School has had two very positive years, with limited disruption to learning. We are delighted that our building works have been completed, and we have moved into a well-appointed suite of classrooms in our new block. We were also visited by Ofsted in February 2020, and were judged to be a Good school, under the new rigorous framework. We were delighted by the wonderful things the inspection team recognised in our staff and children over the two days they spend with us. I would encourage you to follow the link on the website to read the report for yourself.
Our school community shares a single vision of “Excellence Together”, where staff and students aim to make excellence a habit in all that we do: our teaching and learning, behaviour and care of each other, within a Christian and multi-faith ethos. We are ambitious in our aspirations for our students, and want them to leave us as confident and articulate young people, able to succeed in an ever-changing world.
We believe these aims are only possible with the development of strong partnerships with our parents, carers and governors. Due to this support, the school’s results have continued to improve. The school is well placed to equip our students for the challenges ahead, and our curriculum is focused upon rigorous qualifications that are valued by education and business partners.
We pride ourselves on the range and quality of the extra-curricular opportunities we are able to offer, alongside our enrichment programme to ensure all students are able to excel in their preferred area of interest. We have a particularly strong intervention programme, as well as coaching and mentoring to assist Year 11 students achieve their goals. We consistently close the gaps of achievement between our disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs, and our other students.
We believe that the total educational experience of our students is vitally important to ensure that when they leave us they have the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and attributes to succeed in whichever area they wish. We also take the safety of our community very seriously. The school aims to help parents understand that the school, like all others, has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students. The school may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a student’s welfare. We are sure that you will join us in this partnership.
Thank you for visiting our website, and if it does not answer all of your questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
